This has been God’s plan all along!
In the Garden of Eden, humanity would dwell in God’s presence and extend God’s Kingdom throughout the earth, “fill the earth and subdue it” (Genesis 1:28).
The Garden was the 1st Kingdom stronghold in the earth but warfare against God’s plans emerged. Man opened the gate to sin but through Jesus, the second Adam, God is restoring His original plan.
We, the church, are heaven’s stronghold in the earth. We are ambassadors of Heaven (2 Cor 5:20) anointed to dwell in God’s presence and extend God’s Kingdom throughout the earth.

A Kingdom stronghold on earth is like an embassy established in a foreign and hostile land. The adversarial culture has no effect on expression of this stronghold because its influence comes from another place.
within any American Embassy the laws, authority and culture of America exist. Christians are citizens of Heaven (Philippians 3:20). The church is kind of like the embassy of God’s Kingdom in the earth!
Imagine if an embassy could move throughout communities of the world inviting people into a deeper understanding of a flourishing life. When we think of a house, we think of a solid structure that can't be moved. But this house is God’s dwelling in us, as living stones. This thing moves throughout communities in nations around the world.
We're living stones on a Living Foundation full of the breath of God. Jesus is living into and through our surrender.
Ps 24:7 Lift up your heads oh ye gates that King of Glory may break into the earth wherever you may be at any given moment in time!
God sent his Son as the word made flesh to tabernacle with us awakening us to the reality of God’s Kingdom in the earth! John 1:51 describes angels ascending and descending on the Son of Man.
This is a very curious resemblance to the first mention of the House of God in Scripture, found in the story of Jacob’s Ladder in Genesis 28. Jacob slept with his head on a stone. In his sleep he had a dream of angels ascending and descending from heaven and earth.
Jacob woke up Genesis 28:17 And he was afraid and said, “How awesome is this place! This is none other than THE HOUSE OF GOD, and this IS THE GATE OF HEAVEN.”
Jacob used the stone that his head was on to build a pillar pouring oil on it. This speaks of Jesus the anointed rock upon which the church would be built to open the gate between heaven and earth!
Genesis 28:19 He called the name of that place Bethel, but the name of the city was Luz at the first. ESV
Bethel means, “House of God.” Luz means, “Almond tree”. An almond is a nut so technically Our Father turns a house of nuts into the house of God.
THE HOUSE OF GOD - IS THE GATE OF HEAVEN. Psalms 24:7 says, Lift up your heads oh ye gates that the King of Glory may come in. Through our surrender Jesus is breaking into the earth wherever we may go and wherever we may be at any given moment in time!

This church will remain and outlive us all. Our work in this earth will continue to exist beyond our lives. So, let’s devote ourselves to leaving this church stronger than it was when we discovered it. Let’s leave it stronger theologically, financially, relationally and in every way!
