What you dwell on becomes an access point between two realms. This is why there is such a battle for the spirit of the mind. To dwell on something is to give it mental space, emotional agreement and spiritual permission.
Eph 4:22-23 put off your old self, which belongs to your former manner of life and is corrupt through deceitful desires, 23 and be renewed in the spirit of your minds. ESV
Many people in the West don't even believe witchcraft exists. In Africa witch doctors commonly come out during Christian gatherings pointing to the sky, doing incantations, chanting and asking for rain to disrupt the gathering. Witchcraft exists in every culture. In the west witchcraft has been repackaged for the western mind to easily digest it. One of the trending things on TikTok right now is witchcraft. In America we tend to think entertainers are so cool. No big deal. I’m just singing the lyrics. The Bible clearly says that the spiritual realm of darkness is at work in those who are not surrendered to Christ?
Eph 2:1-2 And you were dead in the trespasses and sins 2 in which you once walked, following the course of this world, following the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that is now at work in the sons of disobedience. ESV
Incantations and rhythmic chants are part of the access point of the spirit of the mind. I’m surprised how many parents are okay with their kids being entertained by and exposed to lyrics that aren’t just different from what they believe but actually mock those beliefs. To dwell on something is to give it mental space, emotional agreement and spiritual permission. The spirit of the mind is something we must guard and protect!
The reason why the enemy is advancing in America is because of spiritual weakness and distraction. Many Christians are going to church singing songs without any understanding of the power that God has placed within them to release God’s Kingdom in the earth as a result. Our strength is not as much in our numbers, as it is in our spiritual intelligence. Thousands of Christians can gather for religious activities but if it is more about sensual pursuits than spiritual submission then nothing in the spirit realm is shifting.
It might even grow in number but that doesn’t mean God is the one inspiring it. Cancer grows. Maggots multiply. If the culture of a church doesn’t have the ancient landmarks of fasting, prayer, consecration and submission to God's authority then the spiritual atmosphere is lacking.
In John 11 Jesus prays to raise toraise Lazarus from the dead and his prayer is interesting. He opens with,“Father, I thank you that you have already heard me.” He had been in a place of prayer and in this moment, he was just activated what had already been generated in in the spirit of the mind. Perhaps this is why the disciples asked Jesus to teach them to pray. They didn't ask him to teach them to do miracles. They asked him to teach them to activate what they could generate in moments when that kind of supernatural empowering was needed. Jesus didn’t come to model what God could do. Jesus came to model what mankind could do when walking in right relationship with the Father.
